Oakley came to us from Alabama with her friend, Honeybee. She is one of 6 beagles we managed to rescue from a fate of either being dumped or shot after their elderly Papa died and family could not be bothered with them. She is charming! Oakley is very friendly but with a moderate energy level which is comfortable to be around. She has adapted seamlessly into her foster home where there are quite a few other dogs. However, her focus seems to be more on people and she would likely do well as an only dog. She loves affection but certainly enjoys trotting around the yard using her beagle nose. Oakley is making straight A's with house training in her foster home. She's not a big fan of the crate but is crated for meals and bedtime. She will speak her mind about the situation for a short while and then settle down for the night. Oakley is heartworm negative! We think she may already be spayed and she has a vet visit scheduled 7/31 to confirm that and her age. She is likely somewhere between 2 and 4 years but we'll see if our vet can narrow that down a bit.
