ADOPTION PENDING
Simmons is a happy and inquisitive little boy. While he’s a little shy with people at first, he warms up quickly. He starts by accepting chin scratches, then progresses to head pets and eventually solicits belly rubs. Simmons REALLY enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with other pups he can run and play with. Simmons is very quick and nimble, jumping up on furniture with ease. He loves to be outside exploring and is progressing nicely with leash walks. He pulls a little at first, but will then settle in to walk nicely ...with lots of sniffing of course! He hasn’t been tested with cats. Squirrels and lizards are usually ignored, but he has shown interest in chasing rabbits. He has a good appetite, likes treats and chews but isn’t highly food motivated. He’s not shown much interest in toys. Simmons Is making excellent grades in house training and learned to use the doggy door very quickly. He’s grown accustomed to his crate, often choosing to go in it when the door’s open, and he sleeps quietly there when his foster mom is working nearby. While he fusses a little at bedtime, eventually he settles down to sleep in the crate and is good all night. For a time he slept in a gated area and was okay with that too, but has come to prefer the crate. Simmons seems to really like snuggling with another dog, so we suspect if he had a canine companion he’d be very content sleeping anywhere they did. If you want a tiny little beagle with a big personality, Simmons may be the one for you. He will have had a dental and be neutered before going on sleepover. We do not have that scheduled yet... but will soon!
