JACE HAS A SLEEPOVER SCHEDULED WITH A POTENTIAL ADOPTER!

Arrival:  JACE is a mild mannered Beagle who was dumped at a rural shelter in Louisiana.  JACE seems relaxed and gets on well with other dogs. Here are some things about Jace that his foster mom would like to share about him:

Jace is very comfortable being part of a large pack of dogs (7). He is fun-loving, eager to engage other dogs in play. He is beginning to recognize his name and 'come'. Jace is affectionate with humans; loves cuddling, being on your lap and body hugging! He has a great disposition! At times when he is out of foster's sight, she finds him calmly sitting alone in a corner or on a dog bed entertaining himself by chewing a rawhide.

Sometimes with no prompting, Jace will enter his crate either to rest/sleep or chew on a toy. He likes his crate with a covering, like a cave. He sleeps with his cute little tongue sticking out :) and he sleeps peacefully through the night in his dog bed on the floor in foster's bedroom.

Jace also rides extremely well in car. He is harnessed into a seat belt and just sits or lays down while travelling. He is slowly mastering getting down out of the vehicle (small SUV). He cannot yet jump up into vehicle.Initially we discovered that he did not know HOW to jump up or down. He now can and will jump up into the easy chair and down.

Jace e is curious yet cautious about each new thing he encounters or experiences. For instance, seeing a fire-hydrant for the first time, he crouched low to the ground and slowly inched towards it to sniff. Same with the water fountain at dog park, a potted plant in our yard. His curiosity gives him courage to go and investigate. However, he startles easily, so it's best not to sneak up on him. He LOVES bird watching and Arooooo-ing at them. 

Jace is doing excellent with potty training and mastered the dog door in 2 days. He may need a refresher course when he goes to a new home, but taking him out regularly and rewarding him when he eliminates outside will bring him back up to grade if he does.

Whoever adopts this little beagle boy will be fortunate indeed!
